04.24.2006 - The RX Summer Sunset Cookout featuring one of my favorite bands namely Parokya Ni Edgar was one event that i did not miss last Saturday. Its also another first for Monster Radio RX93.1 to bring the cookout out of town at the Golden Sunset Resort, which is owned by hair stylist Ricky Reyes. The travel was long and it took us two and half hours to reach Calatagan in Batangas.
If I remember back then thevery first cookout was just held somewhere in Manila, and that was my last cookout that I have attended almost a decade ago. This year its the best one yet having RX93.1 bring you out of the city all expense paid trip. Hanging out with Parokya Ni Edgar was having them along for the summer event. Well I can't wait for another one next year, but right now check out these outrageous photos HERE.

04.23.2006 - Another stellar performance brought to you by Sitti at last friday's album mall tour at the SM Megamall. Promoting her debut album Cafe Bossa by Warner Philippines. Bossa Nova music is once again the new beat to listen to right now as this is her second mall perfomance after last April 3rd at The Podium.
Thanks again to my good friend Sitti for another captivating mall tour, and for signing my good buddy Azrael's audio CD as a present to him. He can't make it that day due to another event engagement, but atleast he gets home something to feature in his blog. Well hopefully sometime next month I'll get my chance to see her at Stone House. For more Cafe Bossa mall tour coverage you can view all 62 photos taken during that day HERE.
04.21.2006 - I've been reading the Infinite Crisis mini-series for the past months. DC Comics has rocked there universe for past few months and I'm down waiting for issue #7. Thanks to Adrian Arcega of Star Wars Philippines for this very informative link he got me to see this preview of the seventh issue. There's two cover versions by George Perez and Jim Lee. You can also view the larger image HERE or see the covers...
Surpisingly I hope to get both cover versions this time. The past six issues I was only picking the George Perez covers, and I can't get enought of the Green Lantern Coprs. beating a crap out of Superboy Prime...
After Infinite Crisis there will be a follow-up saga that involves the missing Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman. I might not get to continue that, but I would probably pick up the very first Crisis form 1985. The original Crisis on Infinite Earths.
04.21.2006 - I'm finally going to the RX Summer Sunset Cookout this coming Saturday courtesy of my buddy JoeShred. Azrael might come along for the ride with Lace. I guess each of Monster Radio RX93.1's event I'm there every month. Its been ten years since I met these jocks, and I've been part of the station once as a former Radio1 student DJ. Finally its time to rock on my very first cook out to be held in Calatagan, Batangas at the Golden Sunset Resort. The word is Parokya Ni Edgar might be the main band perform. I guess that we'll find out when we get there.
Below is the terms and conditions by RX93.1 in order to get to Golden Sunset Resort. Click the image to enlarge...
No outside food and wear proper swimming attire. JoeShred plans to swim in the suit. This all expense paid trip with free food and drinks courtesy of the Monster Station!
04.14.2006 - This year's Holy (Wholly) Trek Day has been quite a festive one. Not that I missed it once this count's for a comeback of sort. It was exciting this year as Aegis joined in bringing there unique and rare board games. Not to mention Dodge City a game where you play either a renegade, deputy, and a sheriff in a card game that pits wits with a dynamite in hand. It was also a yearly egg hunting, which have been added to the yearly Holy Trek Day tradition that began in April 2002.
Special thanks to the Via-Astris led by Captain Paolo Jalbuena and the whole cast of the U.S.S. Kalayaan crew. I can't wait for the TOS shirts to arrive. Pretty much this will be my only uniform, since I lost my Voyager and Enterprise uniforms from two years ago. The Captain jokingly said I should get two of each color, but I doubt I would need another extra three. You can check out the rest of all eighty one Holy (Wholly) Trek Day photos HERE.
04.12.2006 - Back in the year 2000 I was introduced to a japanese jazz group, which was founded back in 1988. They are Dreams Come True a three man-band with frontwoman Yoshida Miwa on vocals, Nakamura Masato bassist, and Nishikawa Takahiro keyboardist. Lovingly referred to as DCT and dorikamu by their fans. I bought my original copy of The Soul: Greatest Hits on my last trip to Hongkong in December 2000. Unfortunately I lost the CD and was trying to get another one at a local Tower Records. Its disappointing to know that our local record store doesn't carry enough JPOP variety of songs anymore, and to think they are one of the sponsors who brought in Core of Soul last February.
So far they're the band that introduced me to the culture of JPOP. The album The Soul: Greatest Hits is composed of a 2 disc compilation of there best songs from the previous ten albums, that they have produced since 1988. There current album is Love Rocks, which debut last February of this year. Celebrating eighteen years of DCT, and sad to say there won't be any of it sold here. For now this the best album for me going back, where I was the happiest and here's the title track of the 2 disc album....

Yoshida Miwa inspired by Ella Fitzgerald cant get enough of her style, and the band won't be the same without Nishikawa Takahiro after leaving in 2002. Still Dorikamu is here to stay.

04.11.2006 - Yesterday was the longest wait of my life. They say music keeps you going without it there's no life. Silence is boredom, and then again I thought it was gone. Finally I got my JPOP thirst quench after loosing all known collection two years ago.
I got in my hands a Tower Records bag contains something special that my father picked up when he was in Japan past four days ago due to work related. Thanks to him I have now my superproxy. Unfortunately here in our local Tower Records they no longer carry a variety of Japanese audio CDs, and to say there's a demand but they are not looking at it. Oh well I can't say enough I have finally got them in my hands.
Utada anyone? Actually the First Love album by Utada Hikaru is for my youngest sister. The Awake album by L'Arc~en~Ciel is mine. The mother of JPOP for me is none other than Dreams Come True, which is The Soul: Greatest Hits I originally bought from Hongkong back in 2000. I lost this particular 2 disc CD, and now that's here again I feel the goose bumps hearing Yoshida Miwa sing my happy songs. JPOP will stay `cause Dreams Come True.
04.09.2006 - Its been a long time in a far away fandom galaxy of jedis and siths, but it was worth the party as Star Wars Philippines celebrated its anniversary. As part of the New Worlds Alliance, and part of the organization of SWP I grabbed the opportunity to be with Star Woids people held somewhere in Makati. We partied, sang, and beat the hell out of a sabacc game which I didn't last until the third round to loose.
Special thanks to Azrael keeping updated in there gatherings. The last time I went to a SWP gathering was way back in December 2004 there last Christmas party. To all the people especially to Meann, Gary, Aides, Oneal, Rej, Ruth, Jerry, Rain, JP, BeeJay, Sigfried, Abbey, Macy, Ron, Hector, Miao, and the rest ot SWP I forgot to mention thanks guys. For more to the rip roaring antics check out the photos HERE.
04.08.2006 - Bamboo performed to his finest last night as featured superband by the Ayala Malls promotional event for the month of March and April. The event did not start as I expected to be at 7:30pm, where the parking lot area of Glorietta 4 was jam packed with fans from all directions.
I was there as early as 5pm to have myself set-up to where I can take better photos for the event. I haven't the band perform live in two years, since the launch of the online gaming company Mobius Online at The Fort in taguig in November 2004. Its been a pleasure to see Bambooagain, who got the NU Rock Awards 2005 Best Album for Light Peace Love there sophermore album after there debut As The Music Plays. For more of the event coverage see it all HERE.
04.03.2006 - Sitti perform her best last night at The Podium for her very first mall, and album launch that began at exactly 5:30pm. Bossa nova fans and people who got her album was there to watch her sing some of the songs from her debut album Cafe Bossa.
From teenagers, yuppies, parents, to kids line up to get her autograph up until 7PM. Coverage from MTV Philippines and other media partners where on hand for the festivities. I was almost late when I arrived at The Podium, but finally I got my Sitti CD signed.
For more coverage of the event go check the rest of the photos HERE.
04.01.2006 - Thanks to Azrael and Lace with RG Guanzon for inviting me to the Hed and Kandi Greatest Hits event last night. Its quite a while since I went to one.
Well it was a wild night and it was unfortunate that I didn't make it to Francis M's gig last night at SaGuijo. For now check out the photos from last night's festivities HERE.
