10.05.2008 - If you remember the original Collecticon back in 1999 that means your not living in a cave. The very first convention organized by Upper Deck Philippines was a monumental one. Unfortunately when I heard about this event back then I was in Hongkong on a tour with family.

Re-Collecticon days I had attended the following events. Fast forward to the present someone had recycled the name of the event. Please avoid confusion that this year's event has no connection to the real thing or the recent Toy Con 2008 that happened on June 16-17 2008 at the Megatrade Hall.

Although successful it still has a shadow of the original Collecticon and the recent Toy Con. Something that they gave birth to a convention clone.

Not necessary dissing out the present event, but it really needs an identity. Seriously this event would be even successful if it came out with its original concept not borrowed from previous conventions.

I'm not going over to nitpick that they have a Toy Photography contest, but it sure is noticeable by standards that came from Toy Con first.

The rest of whats in there I leave it fill in the blanks, but being a spectator its not hard to see its no competition definitely.

But if you want a serious opinion check out Azrael's coverage HERE.

Dayo Blog It.

10.04.2008 - Dayo Sa Mundo ng Elementalia is the very first full digital in-house made animation. Done by Filipino top animators that I would say proudly 100% percent Filipino created animation.

The blogging community was able to see the behind-the-scene creation of this year's Metro Manila Film Festival 2008 entry. An animation who had a chance to be part of the top eight movies to be shown in this year's film fest. Something interesting to watch this year without even bothering to see what are the other seven movies. But us Filipinos still continue to support these movies good... And the not-so good.

So we get to see a glimpse of what is to be shown in December 2008. Boasting digital technology and tools to bring this animation is seriously a work in progress not to compare with previous animation.

This is a project worth looking into it and supporting them to there road to success. As I see this one is getting the right people and bringing Filipino animation to the next level. Being such talented individuals we should give the Filipino animation industry a chance.

Because in the long run we are a pop culture waiting to happen in this region and its time we true Filipinos time to shine.

A Mad World.

10.03.2008 - Out Worldly denizens who doesn't read comics won't be familiar with a certain comic book titled Madman by Mike Allred who would?

I only red the Dark Horse published book once but never got around to it. Fast forward today when I got into toy photography I managed to complete a set of the now discontinued & defunct Legendary Comic Book Heroes series action figures.

One of them was Madman as part of six figure set to complete the giant monster Pitt, which I eventually had gotten to get the freakin' huge nightmare.

Weather Yesterday.

10.02.2008 - The storm was bad yesterday. The city is drenched and you could feel cold wind inside the office. I had to agree with a friend never liked the weather when its raining. Honestly if I was 10 years old I would have enjoyed it.

No classes and school suspended for the rest of the day, but work is never this crazy and add bad weather to the mix I'd rather sleep.

Probably today the sky would clear out and a another 'jam wont turn undone.

Post-Blog Oktoberfest.

09.27.2008 - nagging headache and body's heavy. Yup we are drunk and buried alive in a mountain full of exhaustion. But it was all good as San Miguel Beer's Oktoberfest takes there 120 days to the bloggers night at Taste Asia in SM Mall of Asia, where blog denizens celebrated and got drunk in the wee hours of the night. I couldn't contain the excitement said by one of my friends when he was as red a tomato. I know he never drinks but he was as sober as everyone in the bunch.

But the night won't end with just the drinking and all. Moonstar88 performed all night singing there hit songs and one eye popping Eraserheads cover song of Sembreak captured on video. There was a drinking contest where one of my friends thought, that he was about to drink in a bottle but turns out to be a pitcher!

There was FREE food and there was FREE giveaways as everyone took home something. I got mine in the form of a blue tooth ear piece for my mobile phone, which I doubt would be receiving further calls using this interesting device.

So the night was young and everyone dropped like a rock.

Nobody went online as I expected and everyone was merry taking home six cans of pale pilsen, and a potato chip packed in a yellow bag.

As they say a good event doesn't come once in a lifetime if you don't enjoy life.
