08.08.2017 – There are utility trucks that are for heavy and light services. Ford as a brand is well known for producing pick up trucks that has become a flagship that other brands followed suit to compete for this specific market.

Matchbox has been synonymous in producing license vehicles from Ford and in bringing the most recent generation of the F-Series popular F-150 truck, which is featured as a commercial vehicle and its second edition release.

In 2015 Ford introduced the thirteenth generation of the Ford F-150 as part of the F-Series line. Without physically changing any of the dimensions from its previous predecessors in the interest of fuel economy, designers reduced curb weight by nearly 750 pounds. In a radical change for a mass-market vehicle, much of the weight reduction stems the change from steel to aluminium in its body structure (the majority of the frame itself remains high-strength steel). With the lone exception of the firewall, all sheet metal used for the F-150 body is aluminium.

Lochner Lumber

Introduced in the Matchbox 2015 series in plain white as a utility service truck from the standard F-150 pick-up truck The packaging for 2017 brings a new look for the F-150 Contractor Truck with olive green colors for a lumber company.

The artwork template from 2015 was reissued with new colors and tampograph art for this year which appears different. The truck art looks better with a darker look and appearing as a ‘new’ casting that its third color variant (more of this later).

Contractor Truck

This Ford F-150 Contractor Truck is a service variant from the standard vehicle that’s sold for the consumer market. The difference is obviously the truck bed having more of a heavy set up with large roll cage for larger haul for a lumbering service.

From its debut year the look for the Contractor Truck wasn’t emphasized with plain white color with minimal tampograph art. But for the 2017 release the olive green and “Lochner Lumber” certainly define its use as a utility vehicle and also shown what accessory it has contained in its truck bed.

MBX Construction Vehicle

Overall the casting for Ford F-150 Contractor Truck is superbly detailed down to the tampographic art for a fictional lumber service, but the downer for this is that there’s no interiors shown as the windows are completely solid grey just like the previous two releases for this truck.

It could have been a great casting for this truck, but like any Matchbox car for the reason why the windows are solid it’s due to budget. The artwork for the packaging was great and you can see it from a far, but when you get close it might disappoint you but the rest is great with this 2017 version.

“2015 Ford F-150 Contractor Truck” is numbered 47 0f 125 die-cast cars released for Matchbox in 2017 and it was acquired at Big W in Westfield Marion for $2.00 AUD (originaly retailed at $3.00 AUD) or PhP 80.00 in Philippine Peso. Matchbox is distributed and sold in the Philippines by Richprime Global Inc now retailed at PhP 119.75 pesos!
