02.01.2012 – Last January 25th was the official Philippine launch of Derrick Rose’s signature shoes known the as The adiZero Rose 2.5 with miCoach. The event was hosted by the lovely Lia Cruz and Rico Robles, the one-half of The RORO Show which airs daily on Monster Radio RX 93.1 FM. The event was graced by athletes in the minor and major leagues of Philippine basketball. Some of them sporting two color ways of the much talked about signature shoes from the 2010-2011 reigning Most Valuable Player in the NBA. (Please CLICK on the title for the full article)

Everyone from the media who received their pair of D Rose with the ROSE 2.5 shoes also gets the miCoach device that is included in the media kit.

The adiZero ROSE 2.5 Details

The design of the adiZero D Rose 2.5 features a Google Earth of Derrick’s Englewood roots embossed into the toe box and upper. The map view is a continuation of the “Cleared for Take-Off” theme of the Rose 2 and represents a view from high above. Signature details include “ROSE” on the tongue and three stripes branding on the back of the shoe to emphasize his speed on the court. The sockliner features an infrared color and Derrick’s signature as a nod to his motivation and inspired play on the court. Derrick’s jersey number “1” is also featured on toe.






They where all set to compete for the PhP 60,000 pesos worth of adidas gear and each of the teams where coached by well know professional athletes of the game. Notable coach Ronnie Magsanoc was present who also played for the team he was assigned to handle.

The afternoon was festive with the like of Chris Tiu who was there to get a pair of his own. The media was all eyes not only on the caliber of talented B-ball players but also Derrick Rose’s sleek pair of kicks that you’re current seeing in his recent games. There were also special awards being given away for those who have taken the advantage of the use of the miCoach technology that was attached to the adiZero D Rose 2.5 shoes.

UPPER:

Inspired by the adiZero Crazy Light, it features a premium SPRINTFRAME execution and enlarged SPRINTWEB area to reduce weight, add support and allow maximum motion control. The GEOFIT memory foam collar provides optimum comfort and fit.

OUTSOLE:

Uses adiZero Crazy Light outsole traction system and has varied engineered thickness to ensure maximum grip in high wear perimeter zones, and less thickness and weight in low perimeter zones like the midfoot.

The adiZero D Rose 2.5 is not just ANY signature shoes that coming out in February it’s also powered by the miCoach SPEED_CELL and here are more details about the device that makes this shoe extra special.

Powered by miCoach, the Rose 2.5 is also the smartest basketball boot. miCoach turns the shoe into the ultimate digital training tool by letting you track and upload performance data including speed, maximum speed, number of sprints, distance, distance at high intensity levels and time.


The miCoach SPEED_CELL

This 2012, adidas launches footwear across sports categories that includes a cavity in the outsole unit which houses the revolutionary miCoach SPEED_CELL™.

The miCoach SPEED_CELL™ captures 360° movement and measures key performance metrics including speed, average speed (recorded every second), maximum speed (recorded every five seconds), number of sprints, distance, distance at high intensity levels, steps and stride rates. The on-board memory stores all your measurements during your game or training for up to seven hours and then wirelessly transmits the on pitch performance data to your tablet, PC or MAC.

The stats can then be shared with friends on Facebook, introducing a fun and competitive edge to training as stats can be compared between each other, or even with adidas professional players such as Derrick Rose, as they upload their personal results. The stats can also be uploaded to existing training plans via the miCoach website, which are then built into personalised coaching programmes that miCoach technology creates specifically for a user.
