08.10.2011 - The Chevy Spark is the latest product from Chevrolet Philippines that was released earlier this year. Filipinos welcomed this with open arms for those who want to take advantage in owning their first car.

In other countries the Spark has different names and widely known in North America as the Chevy Beat, which was popularly seen in the block buster film Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen as the Autobot Skids. The Chevy Spark as the car’s name in the Philippines was released last February, and had been displayed in one of the local malls last March.

The five door hatch comes in six colorful designs targeted to the younger generations and working professionals. It’s trendy as well as known internationally with its key features that would surely benefit your driving experience.

Last March during our trip in South Korea we discovered a little about thing about the Chevy Spark. As previously mentioned this little car is known internationally, and South Korea is actually its birth place where this came from. Though our discovery had lead us to finding out that The Chevy Spark was actually known as the Daewoo Matiz.

GM (General Motors) the parent company of Chevrolet had acquired Korean automotive company Daewoo back in the late 1990s during the Asian Economic Crisis.

Almost all of the cars that were released by Chevrolet with the exception of the Camaro and Volt are made from Korea. Some of the designs behind The Chevy Spark and its platform came from Daewoo’s design concept. Though enough techno babble to simply say that it’s a technological achievement they had put in this car.
