Under the “Heroic Rescue” subline the Toyota Tacoma Lifeguard with San Diego Fire Department logo is the second iteration of the vehicle first introduced by Matchbox brand for the 2014 collection.

It is based on the four-door Toyota Tacoma pick-up truck not to be confused with the latest edition of its namesake truck that is currently the vehicle being used by the lifeguard rescue unit in San Diego down to its real world logo.

Lifeguard Truck Patrol

This modified Toyota Tacoma carries a surfboard and other rescue paraphernalia for the Lifeguard unit. Though the surfboard is molded to the back of the truck it shows little detail of its appearance based on the real world vehicle.

The base plastic chassis comes in black with silver rims just like the real Toyota Tacoma Lifeguard pick-up truck. So far in all the iteration of this Tacoma it is the first time that Matchbox produced it taking the San Diego markings as describe at the back of the long guard packaging.

Heroic Tacoma Rescue

The Toyota Tacoma Lifeguard pick-up truck has tinted windows and solid red colors almost exactly as the one from its real world counterpart. The details may have sacrifice with the casting of an unpainted headlight.

Overall side-by-side comparison of the Toyota Tacoma Lifeguard and its newer cousin the 2016 Toyota Tacoma it looks like a different pick-up truck due to the four-door variant different from its bigger cousin.

“Toyota Tacoma Lifeguard” is numbered 59 0f 120 diecast cars released for Matchbox in 2015 and it was acquired at The Reject Shop for $2.00 AUD or PhP 80.00 in Philippine Peso. Matchbox is distributed and sold in the Philippines by Richprime Global Inc now retailed at PhP 119.75 pesos!
