08.22.2017 – Matchbox has produced various iterations of Ford’s Transit panel van. In reality it’s a common sight to see one in the streets of Europe and it’s a workhorse service vehicle that’s been around Australia.

The tradition of Ford Transit vans continue with its latest edition in the form of a News Van that was released for 2016 and Matchbox adds another variation with brand new colors a refreshing look that’s read to report the everyday weather!

The second edition of the Ford Transit News Van has no difference with the previous version, but with new colors that might catch your attention. It’s not like you see news vans everyday, but Matchbox certainly have a knack to produce a new version half fictional and another part looks realistic.

For the 2017 its quite noting how the appearance looks new at the same time it was a previous model. It is based on the real world Ford Transit van that most companies use for utility service, but as a small news van hardly there’s one out there.

Reporting in the Streets

The artwork pop out with new colors based on its current iteration packed on a long card you can see how refreshingly attractive is this Ford Transit News Van that almost mistaken for a real world news network.

So far to no detailed description about the vehicle on the back of the card, but defines that its part of the “Adventure City” subline for Matchbox’s 2017 series. Other than that the there’s not much about the fictionalized iteration for the Ford Transit.

Delivering Real News

Though the Ford Transit News Van has been an interesting utility vehicle previous review of the first one wasn’t as impressive when it comes to quality. The entire casting of the body is made of plastic and its understandable how Mattel have to keep the Matchbox brand on a budget when it comes to quality.

But the chassis is still in diecast just that the upper body should have been more detailed adding the little things like headlights and the Ford logo badge won’t be that costly when they have details of the fictional 6 News OSEN network in detail.

Broadcasting Live

It is rare noting that this has a gimmick which is a functional radar dish flipping up, but it could have been better designed that it can tilt further back not just angled at 90 degrees. This makes up for the lack of detail for the aesthetics, plastic body and not-so tinted windows where you can see a post where the rivet screws holds it together.

Overall the Ford Transit News Van could have been properly designed though not to be confused with Hot Wheels' Ford Transit Connect it still holds up for its being grounded close real world vehicles being used in the streets. But it still need to improvements in its aesthetics.

“2014 Ford Transit News Van” is numbered 9 0f 125 diecast cars released for Matchbox in 2017 and it was acquired during a two week sale at Big W for $2.40 AUD (originaly retailed at $3.00 AUD) or PhP 96.00 in Philippine Peso. Matchbox is distributed and sold in the Philippines by Richprime Global Inc now retailed at PhP 119.75 pesos!
