In 2012 Germany’s Police had an inaugural event in presenting their line of law enforcement vehicles and one of them is the BMW M5 Police car. The color scheme for the ‘Polizei’ department is green accents rare the generic mostly black & white. Matchbox has released one of these diecast cars for their 2015 series, which was made available internationally.

BMW M5 Series

The M5 is a high performance executive luxury car first introduced in 1986 built by the motorsport division of BMW. The evolution and iteration of the 5 Series continued production and each version are improved from the previous model.

Currently the F10 carrying the M5 name is the latest model first introduced in 2011. It has a wider body and considered private use as a luxury car for the family. But it’s not some slow moving car that you imagine its equipped with a V8 engine and its fast enough to be used a police car.

MBX Polizei Unit

Matchbox released the diecast version based on the actual model that was introduced in 2012 for the 2015 line of cars numbered 53 of 120 and this is the first release of the M5 as a German Police car.

It’s in silver with the German ‘Polizei’ colors and the windows are clear like the like the light bar on tops of its roof. This was also designated under Matchbox sub-line of Rescue Vehicles like the Blaze Blitzer. This could have been a must-have car but due to decline of quality when it comes to details it’s just another Matchbox car.

The front and rear comes unpainted that includes the BMW signature grills, head and tail lights, which also include the lack of detail of the light bar.

This one when it was opened had a product issue on its left rear wheel, but the ‘Lifetime Warranty’ won’t cover the issue for replacement as stated in the details at the back of the card that doesn’t cover countries outside the US and Canada.

But everything about this M5 Polizei car is completely based on the real one and that’s what makes this car attractive when you see it in the pegs. The rims and wheels they chose on this works for the BMW M5, and ANY collector would like this car if not for the lack of paint quality on its details.

“BMW M5 Police” is part of the 2015 Matchbox series numbered 53 0f 120 under the Heroic Rescue sub-line manufactured by Mattel distributed and sold in the Philippines by Richprime Global Inc retailed at PhP 99.75 pesos!
