02.21.2015 – Scarlett Johansson has been transitioning to music for the past ten years. Scarlett’s off again on again flirtations with this side of entertainment has not been in the spotlight for quite sometime.

Its not often you hear her belt a tune but it gets interesting.

In the past she had released a Tom Waits tribute album Anywhere I Lay My Head. Then she continued with Break Up collaborating with singer-songwriter Pete Yorn.

Now Scarlett returns to the music scene with a new single in “Candy.”

She’s not going to do a solo act but teaming up with talented individuals from the music scene. Backing her up a newly formed band features Holly Miranda, Kendra Morris, Julia Haltigan, and Este Haim (from that Haim Band). Johansson adds up describing "Candy" as "super-pop"—a distinct departure from her acoustic outings.

If anything that she can do aside being cast as an action heroine this is something to take a look at as she gives her thoughts about this project, "The idea was to write super-pop dance music written and performed by girls," adding to her statement accompanying the track. "I love Grimes. And I love the Bangles. And I love the Go-Go's. I wanted it to be like those bands: ultra pop but also a little ironic, a little in on the joke."

“Candy” has some spunk that have an interesting beat and the cover art for the single is quite as artistic describing how the band will sound like. This is just a preview with its debut single that certainly Scarlett Johansson’s next jam to her ever growing career.
