| 01.20.2013 – The Man with the Iron Fists is a martial arts film that is set in 19th century China and it’s directed by WU-Tang co-founder RZA an American Grammy Award winning music producer with Eli Roth. The film was already shown in North America on November 2, 2012.
The film stars Russell Crowe, Cung Le, Lucy Liu, Byron Mann, RZA, Rick Yune, David Bautista, and Jamie Chung. The film has not been shown in selected Asian territories including the Philippines and for some who have not heard about the film this will be something worth checking out. The premise of the film featured a group of individuals who team up to vanquish a common foe and heading the cast is Russell Crowe whose character is interesting to watch. If you appreciate his memorable role in the much talked about Les Miserables then expect to him in action in this one. This also star former professional wrestler and current mix martial artist David “Batista” Bautista in his first big screen debut as the “Brass Body.”
Since the arrival in China’s Jungle Village, the town’s blacksmith has been forced by radical tribal factions to create elaborate tools of destruction. When the clans’ brewing war boils over, the stranger channels an ancient energy to transform himself into a human weapon. As he fights alongside iconic heroes and against soul-less villains, one man must harness this power to become savior of his adopted people.
Some trivia about Man with the Iron Fist which also stars RZA is also the producer of this film which is presented by Quintin Tarantino. This took almost two years to develop with familiar actors who has been seen in previous martial arts movies.
