10.01.2012 – Keane has finally arrived in Manila to promote their Strangeland World Tour known for their lead single “Somewhere Only We Know” from their debut album “Hopes and Fears” which debut in 2004.

The band has won several awards like the Brit Award for Best Album and British Breakthrough Act voted by listeners of BBC Radio1 in 2005.

The success doesn't stop there as they released their follow-up album in “Under the Iron Sea” which topped the UK album charts and debuted at No. 4 on the US Billboard 200 chart.

Then their third album was released in “Perfect Symmetry” which was a continuous evolution of their sound from piano-driven songs to an established piano-pop sound to the use of guitars for the first time.

The band’s latest album Strangeland released in 2012 under MCA Music (Universal Music Philippines) debuted at No. 1 on the UK Albums chart which brings us to the world tour. Held earlier at the Garden Room of the Edsa Shangri-La Hotel they spoke and had a few laughs with the media.

In these press cons you see some well-known artist let their hair down and interact with the fans in some intellectual but sometimes deep conversation mostly the songs that made them popular. There was one interviewer from print magazine who honestly said that he’s not a fan of the band which they find amusing as the most interesting individual in the room.

They said the travel to the Philippines was great and most of them find interestingly talk about their songs and wanting to ride the jeepney. Tom Chaplin, Tim Rice-Oxley, Richard Hughes and Jesse Quin round up the quartet who will perform live tomorrow (October 2, 2012) at the SM Mall of Asia’s Arena.

Strangeland is Keane’s fourth studio album contains 16 tracks with songs like the redemptive declamations of “Silenced by the Night”, the spirit-swelling “Neon River”, the bittersweet friendship song “Watch How You Go”, the electronica element of “Black Rain”, the narrative “Sovereign Light Café” and songs which are unmistakably ‘Keane’ like “Disconnected” and “Day Will Come” plus other promising tracks like “You are Young”, “On the Road”, “The Starting Line”, “In Your Own Time”, “Sea Fog”, “Run with Me”, “The Boys”, “It’s Not True” and “Strangeland” --- all of which are absolutely worth listening to. As what Keane drummer Richard Hughes stated, ‘Whatever it is that makes us ‘Keane’ – that invisible glue – is still there. And you can hear it all over Strangeland.’

The album is now available exclusively released under MCA Music (Universal Music Philippines) which retails for PhP 495.00 pesos at all Astroplus and Odyssey Music & Video stores nationwide.
