The film also stars Eva Green, Michelle Pfeiffer, Gulliver McGrath, Johnny Lee Miller, Helena Bonham Carter, Bella Heathcote, Jackie Earle Haley and Chloe Moretz.

Dark Shadows did not disappoint when it comes to its tongue and cheek humor as well as the iconic places which can be seen in the fictional town of Collinsport Maine. Even the family’s ancestral home was present. The backdrop is huge in perspective that you see including the internal view of the mansion and its revealed secrets.

The actors are great with their characters and Johnny Depp was on top as Barnabas Collins. He took Jonathan Frid’s character and made it in his own.

Like previous interviews that included the behind-the-scenes of the making of this film whenever Johnny Depp steps into character the only person he looks up to was Jonathan Frid the original actor to portray Barnabas Collins who recently past away sometime in April 2012. So the film is his last performance and a tribute to him when he did a minor cameo appearance and we’re not spoiling you where you can see him.

Eva Green on the other hand is fantastic as Angelique Bouchard the witch bitch who made Barnabas life a living hell. There were plots and twists along the way that made this film you should not want to miss in seeing in the big screen. Chloe Moretz the 15 year-old who is rising star has revelations that you’d like to see in this film and she has grown from being known as “Hit Girl” in Kick-Ass to definitely really kicking everyone.

Fresh off from her preview Warner Bros. film produced New Year’s Day she’s back with Dark Shadows and last time she teamed up with director Tim Burton was in Batman Returns in the role of Selena Kyle aka Catwoman which was almost 20 years ago. Her role as the matriarch of the Collins Family Elizabeth Stoddard brings maturity and sort of “motherhood” to the cast and some would say this film reminds us about the Addams Family that was known the 1990s.

Overall the film is highly anticipated and should not miss especially if its stars Johnny Depp and directed by Tim Burton with music by Danny Elfman. The costumes are done by Colleen Atwood and all we can say there are no dull moments save the last part for you to judge in regard to the climax scene. The film gets 7.5 out of 10 rating and we leave you those who want to see this film anticipating for more.

Opening across the Philippines on May 10, 2012 (11th in North America), “Dark Shadows” is distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.
