11.28.2011 – If you have missed last weekend’s extravagant of POP and URBAN Culture Collaboration that was organized by the fine crew at Fullybooked then your must be literally living under that slab of rock. It was a celebration with a heart as it was geared for a special charity for the World Food Program.

Vinyl + Splash event that collaborated some of the well known Filipino comic book artists that’s breaking the international scene was all present together with their counterparts in the Urban Art community. Who would miss this event for any passionate true blue art aficionado?

The collaboration definitely paid off in its success that everyone was in the room with an overwhelming delight. Fulybooked the biggest special book store in country teamed up Vinyl on Vinyl, Red Nimbus and Comic Odyssey to bring you the ultimate mash up of collaboration that brought out the best of Filipino talents for a worthy cause.

The proceeds of the auctions went to feeding the Children of Mindanao which is WFP’s project that was highly beyond expectation. There were also foreign delegates our friends from Singapore who went there way just to see their favorite comic book artists.













Good company with the talented people from the Urban Culture Community was present at all time high and the appreciation was electric with their work on exhibit.

The Top Shelf of Fullybooked was packed with comic book fans as well as well known personalities who really appreciate the world of pop art. It’s a wonderland of culture that will be talked about for the next few weeks here and outside the country.













The event won’t be possible without the biggest team up with these specialty stores that bring the best of the Filipino community that embraces Pop and Urban Culture.

Talented Filipinos in the Comic Book community headed by the legendary Toni DeZuniga the SDCC 2011 InkPot Awardee led the way with his first sketch in what would be the biggest Art Jam that featured eleven other famous artists in Gerry Alanguilan, Mark Torres, Harvey Tolibao, Stephen Segovia, Mico Suayan, Ed Tadeo, Leinil Yu, Bong Dazo, Lui Antonio, and Lan Medina. Jay Anacleto had his own work up on eBay and was present to grace this event.













The Urban Street Art aficionado was present with the best and the brightest featuring works from Dee Jae Pa’Este, JP Cuison, Woop, Nemo Aguila, Sarah Gaugler, Bru Sim, Brian Vallesteros, and Gabby Tiongson just to name a few well known talents in the industry.

The event was hosted by comic book geek in RJ Ledesma and World Food Progam was ever present when they received the proceeds of the auction at the closing of the program from Jaime Daez Managing Director of Fullbooked.

WFP is represented by Mr. Stephen Anderson who spoke on stage with Mr. Daez how overwhelming this event in bringing this charity to reality.
