09.01.2011 – The Smart Communications has launched the Smart Netphone which was unveiled earlier at the Republiq in Resorts World. The phone first appeared earlier this year at the Mobile Web Conference in Barcelona. We got a hold of the hands-on device previously and now dubbed the Netphone 701 (aka ZTE Blade V880) which runs on Android 2.2 Froyo.

The specs are pretty decent as we tested the device and its efficiency. Now revealed to the public it won’t be available until September 10, 2011 priced at PhP 9,990.00 pesos.

The unit comes with the standard charger, battery pack, and instructions manual. The Netphone 701 looks responsive running on Android. The 3.2 mega pixel camera is not as what we expect to be which depends on well lighted places and doesn’t much a good job under dim areas.

This is an entry level for Smart Communications very own mobile device, which is a brave attempt at capturing a market now populated with touch screens. Definitely everyone is looking forward to the polished product on its street date.
