One of the fastest-growing banks in the country continues to make the auto loan business as its primary revenue drivers. This was affirmed by its 26.2% year-on-year growth for the semester of the year. This shows that the bank’s performance for the first half of 2011 re-affirms its position as the sixth largest auto loan provider in the country.

The Bank is optimistic that it will be able to take advantage of the positive outlook for auto loans, as confirmed by latest figures from the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP). As of the first quarter of the year, BSP reported that the consumer loans hit PhP481.2 billion, with auto loans concerning 25.8% of the total.

EastWest Bank is hoping that it will be able to achieve a double-digit growth in its consumer lending for 2011, with auto loans growing faster because of faster turnaround time and booking, and as car buyers remain confident in the economy.
