| 02.16.2011 - Its OFFICIAL since reported by Timzster on Pop Culture Crusader and GeekMatic the announcement of Columbia Pictures upcoming Spider-Man film will be now known as-- The Amazing Spider-Man! Actor Andrew Garfield will be starring as the friendly neighborhood web slinger and his alter ego Peter Parker. Also starring in this film is Emma Stone as Peter's love interest Gwen Stacy, and Rhys Ifans will be playing Dr. Curt Thomas who evidently will be the scaly Lizard! This was announced officially by Marvel, that The Amazing Spider-Man will be released July 3, 2012 and will be internationally distributed by Columbia Pictures.
