11.17.2010 - The band everyone grew up in the 1990s are here now in Manila. Music fans around the country was ecstatic to see Gin Blossoms in the flesh. They are now in the country to perform in Manila and Cebu on November 18 and 20, 2010. They where already hanging out at the Crowne Plaza in Ortigas Center, Pasig City. By 7PM they trickle through a very small room with the set up for five chairs and three microphones in a large table. The questions and answers started immediately when the host begun to open the press conference exclusively for the the media. (Please CLICK on the title for the full article) |
Behind closed doors the cameras started to flash as the five gentlemen was seated sipping their vodka to their delight.
Questions asked always started with "Hi! I'm a fan..." then the inquiries from how the band started to how is their reception to the country with some relation to if they know or heard about Filipino boxing Legend Manny Pacquiao. Mostly there was one question on how they felt the Filipinos they where moved by their music. They where very much appreciated for all these years being recognized.
As you all know that the band broke up some years back and returned touring again (they re-released their Greatest Hits album distributed by MCA Music). They joked about breaking up after this tour and pretty much have been gracious getting everyone's attention.
Robin Wilson (lead vicalist) was mostly the man answering the questions, while very much relaxed sipping his vodka seated in his comfy chair. They explained how Gin Blossoms came about and how they got the band's name. Though they say it has a medical term to it I would be a bit lost in the translation. Robin was asked what bands he follow currently. He likes My Chemical Romance as one mentioned.
All is well seeing the band, that everyone remembers getting a bit of "Jelousy", with that reality bite sound "As long as it matters" or a song "Follow you down".
