06.06.2010 - Shrek Forever After is a 2010 American animated fantasy-family film, and the final film in the Shrek series. It was released in theaters on May 21, 2010 in the United States, Canada, India, and Philippines on May 20 in Russia and on May 28 in Vietnam. It is scheduled to be released on July 2, 2010 in the United Kingdom. It was released in 3-D and IMAX 3-D theaters. The plot was announced February 23, 2009.

Like the first three Shrek films, the movie is based on fairy tale themes. The trailer was attached with Avatar. I never expected to see this film until the family invited me to see it on a Sunday afternoon. I've seen it on 3D and the reception here in the Philippines is still welcoming and the theater was still packed. Though its not like May 21, 2010 since its already June and I was fortunate enough to see it.

Gone Far Far Away... To Forever After.

The last Shrek film has faded out of memory. As long as I try to recall it was totally forgotten. Though this one was more enjoyable than the previous ones. But there's something is not here anymore compared to the very first time seeing the film. As I remember Shrek the Third three years ago was the last one for good. Eventually I wasn't that all surprised seeing the trailer of the film How to Train Your Dragon.

The Happy Meal toys came out but the interest wasn't there anymore, but the interest to see the movie was there. Its just that I wasn't expecting to see it on 3D. It still have its humor, but as mentioned there was an element that was missing.

All I can say is the movie has weak legs, but was a stand out and it was a box office hit.

The Verdict

Overall all I can say is kids would still love seeing it. Little ones ages four and below are not highly suggested to see this with Rumpelstiltskin and the Witches looks scary enough for them wanting to go home. I give this a rate of 7 out of 10 score, but still a fun movie to watch with the family.
