From Comics to Movie
Based on the comics published by DC Comics for their Vertigo imprint. The Losers ran for 32 issues and was canceled in 2006. Currently the compilations is available in two volumes. Vertigo comics is for mature audience and as you see in the film has violent scenes.
The movie jumps out of the comic pages, and makes you glued to every scene. Fast paced action with no dull moment. In one scene it was MTV-like sequence straight from a music video, and it works for this film. Black humor and a sarcastic villain. There are witty scenes, and you have to pay attention on seeing this film. Because you won't know who's bad, the good guys or literally the character your going to root for. Its a film highly recommend to see.
Most notable perfomance by Zoe Saldana from the girl at The Terminal, as Uhura in Star Trek, and as the blue alien Neytiri in Avatar. Now as the but kickin' bad girl Aisha takes her role to new heights. Zoe Saldana has come a long way, and she's reaping the benefits as an action star in The Losers.
The Verdict
The film is not your average comic book to movie, where heroes with powers or in their spandex. Its similar to last year's White Out, but with a serious bad-attitude action. Nor recommended to bring kids on this one. Its an action film entirely if you don't read the comics.
Overall its an 8/10 if you count Chris Evans, who I still see him as Johnny Storm aka The Human Torch in Fantastic Four.
Damn. He's unforgettable with that viral LSS song. See it in theaters on April 23rd!
