11.17.2017 – There are different types of delivery trucks that bring supplies to supermarkets and restaurants to replenish their stock. Matchbox has produced several of these types of vehicles and most of them have been interesting.

Rarely will you ever see Matchbox produce these types of delivery trucks that have real world licensed brands printed in them. Then there’s Aqua King a delivery truck that was built mainly to look like that can replenish your thirst.

If you’re looking at generic type of delivery trucks the Aqua King is as simple as its design. Not that you’ve seen everything how Matchbox try to go back its roots in naming every vehicle that has a last name for ‘King’ would be convincing to be bigger than its original scale but its not.

But every time Matchbox comes up with a vehicle that had its last name is ‘King’ it harkens back to the Super Kings of bigger scale vehicles that compliment the smaller 1:64 cars. But these days you just have to be content with a vehicle like Glass King or Aqua King that doesn’t really make you feel nostalgic but its there.

Juice Instincts

What does it means for someone with “Juice Instincts?” It sounded like a pun and looked catchy for a fictional brand of mineral water. It’s the latest tampo for the Aqua King truck that works with its grey colored metal body with its plastic bright blue chassis that goes well with the translucent blue bottles.

The latest iteration of the Aqua King seems rebooted with its new colors to compliment the casting. It was introduced in 2011 and was consistently produced by Matchbox with the exception of its absence to the line in 2014 and 2015.

Watery Delivery

There’s not much to the Aqua King in terms of its overall design, but the translucent blue plastic on both sides appear to be bottles though their not. The look and appearance goes well with its concept as a generic delivery truck.

Comparing it beside the Glass King it’s longer and a bit bigger since both vehicles don’t have the same scale. If this was ever produced as Super Kings the Glass King is slightly bigger than the Aqua King being a medium type of utility vehicle.

“Aqua King” is numbered 19 0f 125 diecast cars released for Matchbox in 2017 and it was acquired at Big W in Westfield Marion for $2.00 AUD (originaly retailed at $3.00 AUD) or PhP 80.00 in Philippine Peso. Matchbox is distributed and sold in the Philippines by Richprime Global Inc now retailed at PhP 119.75 pesos!
