| 10.13.2017 – Anywhere in the world the Police mobile is an essential vehicle for the law and enforcement. From doing rounds in the village to chasing cars that go over the speed limit it’s the vehicle that takes them right smack of the crime scene.
Matchbox has produced variations of the Police car and for 2017 they re-released some old favorites and a new model like the 2015 Subaru WRX STI. The law has become more efficient with their ride that deserves a closer look. (Please CLICK on the title for the full article) |
There have been several Subaru Impreza that has been produced since 1999 and most of these where used in the World Rally Cross staging and for that this Matchbox version carries the WRX (in some places WRX stands for "World Rally Cross").
It’s also an STI (Subaru Tecnica International) which was upgraded to sWRX in many categories, including blueprinted performance-tuned engines, transmissions, and suspensions. This is based on the fourth generation Impreza indicated as a 2015 model that was turned into a police car.

Fastest Mobile Unit
Matchbox introduced the 2015 Subaru WRX STI for the 2017 series as a police car with yellow chequered tamp on both side with “Police” in white font. There are not many details in the rear, but was good enough to have tampos on the headlights.
Though the real world version of this Subaru would look fast, this diecast version need a bit of diet as it appears to have gained weight for its shape due to the casting. This version have the light bar is part of the translucent window and has a large spoiler that definitely would catch up in a police chase.

Policing the World
In the past Matchbox had produced well known car brands as Police cars like the German ‘Polizei’ using a BMW as an example. But this version is loosely based on the new South Australian Police colors as primary colors in the past are white with blue accents. The new ones are now in blue whit chequered print just like the one seen in last month’s Royal Adelaide Show.
Overall the 2015 Subaru WRX STI is one of those fast cars that was turned into a police car and it looked great. Just the nitpick on how the casting looked is slightly different from the real world version. It looked big when you compared with another Matchbox car, but everything else looks good on this car.
“2015 Subaru WR STI” is numbered 60 0f 125 diecast cars released for Matchbox in 2017 and it was acquired during a end of month sale at Coles in Westfield Marion for $2.10 AUD (originaly retailed at $3.00 AUD) or PhP 84.00 in Philippine Peso. Matchbox is distributed and sold in the Philippines by Richprime Global Inc now retailed at PhP 119.75 pesos!
