09.22.2017 – There are pick-up trucks built for the right kind of use. Utility vehicles today have to be reliable and flexible for its assigned use. There have been several brands who put their name on the line to show that they’re made tough.

But one brand stays true to their heritage and for the reason why it’s truly an American classic. This is the Dodge Ram 1500 one of America’s renowned pick up trucks that shows you the muscle in any kind of terrain and Matchbox has produced it.

The Dodge Ram truck was introduced in 1981 as its first generation, which featured a Ram hood ornament that takes inspiration from its past heritage going as far back in 1933. It features a two-wheel and four-wheel drive variants. Then a second Generation was introduced in 1994 with new styling designs taking its designs cues from past Dodge designs.

By 1996 the Ram truck had a major facelift when the third generation was introduced that was unveiled at the 2001 Chicago Auto Show. This debuted publicly with the 2002 year model. Matchbox produced the Dodge Ram SRT-10 in 2003 with oversize tires based from its third generation design, but recently you can only acquire this through the five-packs.





Guts & Glory to the Rescue

In 2016 Matchbox produced and revealed the 2015 Dodge Ram 1500 as a Park Ranger’s utility vehicle. This color scheme and theme would eventually be used again for the 2017 5-pack to accompany the previously mentioned version of the Ram 1500.

For 2017 the Ram 1500 gets released once again as a rescue pick-up truck with the “El Segundo Fire Department” badge, which is based on the real world rescue vehicle retaining the molded light bar and there was no running change other than its new color scheme with the Fire Department.







Built For a Gutsy Terrain

Just like the 2016 release the Ram 1500 is based on the 2015 year model of its fourth generation commercial truck. But the different is it’s designed with a light bar, which is not separately painted and its part of the window tint colors. Its white stripe “Fire Utility” numbered 31 stands out along with the El Segundo Fire Dept badge.

Overall the 2015 Dodge Ram 1500 Fire Rescue vehicle retains all the elements of the previous year model with the exception that it’s now a rescue utility truck. The roll cage makes the details of this truck authentic even though the headlights are not painted. But it captures all elements of what the El Segundo Fire Dept truck appearance in the real world.



“2015 Ram 1500” is numbered 62 0f 125 diecast cars released for Matchbox in 2017 and it was acquired during a end of month sale at Coles in Westfield Marion for $2.10 AUD (originaly retailed at $3.00 AUD) or PhP 84.00 in Philippine Peso. Matchbox is distributed and sold in the Philippines by Richprime Global Inc now retailed at PhP 119.75 pesos!
