08.16.2012 – The star studded affair greeted The 4th Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS) with such pageantry with each car manufacturer’s unveiling of their latest products with great performances from talented artists from the music industry.

The marathon of unveilings culminated with Atty. Rommel Gutierrez speech after the ribbon cutting in opening this year’s PIMS to the media and also to the public who are anxious as well as anticipating the revelry in seeing the latest vehicle models with few surprises for everyone to see.

Atty. Gutierrez spoke about the climate change referring to the major developments in the landscape of the Philippine auto industry. "Our dream is for the Philippine International Motor Show to one day become a tourism draw in itself – in the same vein that the Tokyo Motor Show has been drawing crowds from outside Japan. This is partly the reason we chose the theme 'Drive the Fun' – riding on the resounding success of the Department of Tourism's 'It's More Fun in the Philippines' campaign,” he added.

In closing he thanked everyone for making it to the event today and commenced the start of the “marathon of unveilings” which began at 11AM with Honda, BMW, Kia Motors and Mercedes-Benz. There was five minutes break in each unveiling for everyone to catch up with the excitement.









What’s NEXT for Suzuki!

Shifting to the next level Suzuki opened up with the traditional Japanese drums with a colourful dance performance and launched their top of the line cars in Kizashi, Celerio, Alto, Sx4 Crossover, and their flagship car in the Swift which also featured the Swift S-Concept.











Built Tough with Isuzu!

Isuzu opened up with breathtaking performances and with songs from Ms. Monique Wilson promoting the local run of “The King and I” at the Resorts World Manila as special guest. She was present during the introduction of the latest Isuzu’s six models: the 2013 Sportivo X, the Crosswind XS, the 2012 D-MAX Boondock 4x4 Special Edition, the 2012 D-MAX LS 4x2 Special Edition, the NHR cab with Flexi Truck body option, and the 2013 Alterra Urban Cruiser X.









Toyota and the 86 TRD!

Toyota was ambitious and shows why they are one of the leading car manufacturers by announcing the official release of the 86 TRD and Aero sports coupe which was officially unveiled last June 18, 2012 to selected media from the motoring industry over the weekend prior to its release date.

Coupled with dance performance they also announced the latest release of the Camry, Innova, New Fortuner, and Vios to the public.









Elegance in Lexus!

Lexus announced its record breaking sales in the market and the super car in the LFA as one of their achievements presented in this year’s PIMS by Mr. Danny Isla, President of Lexus Manila who also talked about their cars in the LX 570, RX 350, GS 350 F, and the CT 200h all on display at the show floor.







Lexus x Toyota Rocks with Gary V. and Martin Nievera!

Both Lexus and Toyota have the biggest performers in the Concert King Martin Nievera and Mr. Pure Energy Gary Valenciano that caught the crowd in a frenzy belting out their famous songs as well as covers from Earth, Wind and Fire.









Drive on Earth with Mitsubishi

Japanese car manufacturer Mitsubishi was situated at the right side of the convention floor with the opening performance with three women singing acapella and a group of men dressed like the dance group Jabbawockeez.

Then surprise music with the band Pupil and unveiling of the new Mirage a “Global Small Concept” car. They also introduced the All-New Outlander and on exhibit is the classic Gallant VR4 made its World Rally Championship debut in 1988 and won two rounds the following year.









Korean and Filipino Inspired Technology!

There are two things that embody this collaboration in creating heavy duty and safety for the metro commuters. In merging two cultures to bring you the tough but agile Daewoo Buses from Columbian Manufacturing Corporation (CMANC) hand built by Filipinos based in Laguna infused with Korean technology. This is definitely a collaboration of two nations bringing you one BIG product introduced in the 4th PIMS.

The unveiling of their latest Daewoo Buses in the Philippines with the BV115 and the BS106 models was hosted by Korean DJ of Monster Radio RX93.1 and model Jinri Park with dance performances from a group of students from De La Salle College of Saint Benilde.









JMC’s Orion and Vigor Launched!

JMC Philippines is a division of Dreamco Automobile Company, Inc. which is part of the Star Motors Group, the only surviving 100% Filipino-owned car assembly operation in the Philippines to date. The manufacturing facility in Sta. Rosa, Laguna launched two latest models in the Orion (Oh-Rah-Ion) S350 for the local mid-size SUV market which debut at the 4th PIMS.

The other is the pick-up truck named “Vigor” a powerful Hunter tradition of hauling capacity and fuel economy with a sleeker body and updated interiors. “The Vigor will not replace the Hunter but will compliment it in the line-up,” explains Rico San Agustin, Sales and Marketing Manager of Dreamco. “The Hunter pick-ups are JMC’s best sellers in the Philippines and in many markets abroad. With the arrival of the Orion S350 SUV, the Vigor further expands the market’s alternative choices.”









Nissan reveals The Juke and Filipino designed 350Z!

Nissan highlights featuring latest models in Patrol, X-Trail, Grand Livina and the Teana. The unveiling of The Juke has finally arrived in the Philippines introduced by personalities in radio DJ Toni Tony Bueno and TV host/Blogger Patty Laurel.









Philippine Cosplayer and TV Host Alodia Gosiengfiao introduced the Nissan 370z and Randy Rodriguez, Senior Designer at Nissan Design America. This is Rodriguez’s first trip to the country representing Nissan who is a Canadian native now based in San Diego California.









CATS Launched The Dodge Charger!

Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge closed the event without any dance number or well-known personality to promote their latest models in the New Jeep, Grand Cherokee, 300C or the Town and Country vehicles. What gave the media’s attention is the All-New Dodge Charger a name synonymous with their brand for making muscle cars in the past.

This bad boy could give their present-day counterparts a run for their money with its sheer power. Inside this machine is equipped with the best 10-speaker sound system in Beats By Dre making it more comfort when you’re listening to your favourite music.

In closing the media presentation has become the much anticipated part of the event since the Philippine International Motor Show was introduced in 2007, 2008 and 2010.

There are also other booths in the other side to accessorize your car and some interesting things you might see in this event which is also for the family. The event will run up to August 19, 2012 this Sunday and there’s more interesting events happening in this year’s Philippine International Motor Show.
