01.02.2012 – Riding the crest of hellfire is Ghost Rider the character made famous by Nicolas Cage returns once again for a sequel in “Spirits of Vengeance.”

Nicolas Cage plays troubled soul Johnny Blaze, who is still struggling with the curse as the devil’s bounty hunter – but he may risk everything as he teams up with the leader of a group of rebel monks (Idris Elba) to save a young boy from the devil… and possibly rid himself of his curse forever.

In this gritty new vision for the character, directed by Neveldine/Taylor (“Crank”), Johnny goes to Europe to try and purge the demon within that has cursed him. This film is not entirely a direct sequel to the original but sort of retconned its origins.

“Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance” is written by Scott M. Gimple & Seth Hoffman and David S. Goyer, with a story by Goyer based on the Marvel Comic that was popularized in the 1970s by writers Roy Thomas & Gary Friedrich and artist Mike Ploog.
