10.16.2011 – Ford’s best selling compact hatchback was a sight for sore eyes on a sunny Saturday afternoon. The huge turnout could not be done without the Fiesta owners themselves as three groups coming from places unknown as arrived and show supported to the new loved car in the Philippines.

This year also marks the 35th birthday of the Ford Fiesta, spanning six generations with 15 million cars produced globally since its introduction and celebrating its 1st anniversary in the country which was taken by storm.

The celebration commence early in the morning with the support from friends in the motoring industry. It was one of Ford Philippines’ most ambitious plans to date. The crew from the 99.5RT featuring Neil Almighty, Marf, and Koji Moralez was all set in their designated venue (for further expanded adventure with Koji Moralez read all about it HERE).

Three locations was set to gather the ford Fiesta owners which are located in MC Home Depot in Ortigas Center, Shell Macapagal Avenue, and Mindanao Avenue. Divided into the three Disc Jocks they are accompanied by the best drivers from Brand on Demand as well as the loveliest models who will assist each team in confirming the registered owners who signed up at the Ford Fiesta in the Philippines Facebook Fan Page.

The early mornings on top of the roof deck parking of MC Home Depot at the Bonifacio Global City was quiet after a few hours it was filled with the most vibrant personalized Ford Fiesta known in the Philippines. The program didn’t start until all three jocks have arrived with their teams who made it back at the main venue. There were a few memorable moments during the live feed that would find this quite memorable as an experience being part of this event was bigger than you thought it would be.

Of course, the program was hosted by Neil Almighty and Marf until the end blowing of the candle. It’s one of those rare moments you’ll see Anika Salcedo-Wycoco (AVP for Communications, Ford Group Philippines) being dragged by the Jollibee mascot and seeing Toni Gonzaga Ford’s brand ambassador for the Fiesta scribbling her own signature in the Ford Fiesta Doodle Car.

“The first anniversary of the Ford Fiesta marks a number of milestones for us at FGP. Not only does it continue our One Ford story in the Philippines, but it also brings to life our commitment to our customers in the Philippines. This one-of-a-kind celebration allows our vibrant online and offline community to come together celebrate this milestone with us. We are fortunate to have such an engaged and passionate Fiesta community - this event is really for them," says Anika Salceda-Wycoco, AVP for Communications, Ford Group Philippines.

The Anniversary party features live entertainment from guest local bands and DJs with live coverage from media partner 99.5RT whose official transport is the unmistakable 99.5RT Ford Fiesta roaming the streets of the Metro.

Ford Fiesta owners are also in for a treat with various activities and displays during the event. It features accessorized Ford Fiestas from various owners, the DC Ken Block-inspired Fiesta and the 99.5RT Fiesta. The new TRS Ford Fiesta racing cars will also be on-display for everyone to see. Fiesta owners can also write their birthday messages on the specially-designed Doodle Fiesta.

Certainly the whole Saturday experience won’t be this monumental with the big appreciation in supporting this specially to the Ford Fiesta owners who drove all the way to the farther regions of the Greater Manila Area.

It’s something each Fiesta owner to be proud celebrating this event like no other. Special acknowledgements to the crew of 99.5RT and FGP for the opportunity to do a coverage for this successful celebration and we can’t say the next year would possibly bigger.
