02.19.2010 - The International Olympic Committee uses symbols or icons to promote the Olympic Games. Upon the creation of the said committee, its founder, Pierre de Coubertin proposed the Olympic Latin motto Citius, Altius, Fortius which means Swifter, Higher, Stronger. This motto was introduced at the first Winter Olympic Games in Paris in 1924.

The Five Olympic rings represent the 5 continents who are participating and competing in the Olympic Games. It was designed in 1912 by the founder of the International Olympic Committee. The emblem is composed of 5 interlocking rings colored blue, yellow, green, black, and red. It has at least one of the colors in every flag...
