02.26.2006 - Core of Soul Asia Tour 2006 rocked last night at the Shang with local Filipino artists such as Hale, Barbie Almalbis, and Kitchie Nadal. Not to forget Core of Soul a new J-Pop group compose of Fukko, Keisuke Lizuka, and Song Rui. Its been a long time to hear another japanese band like Core of Soul. This time around I got the chance to see them live, and I haven't heard there material up until last night.
The event started at exactly 9pm with the perfomance by Barbie Almalbis, and then Kitchie Nadal was next. Core of Soul followed, where some of the people in the area was not familiar with there music. Anime and J-Pop fans where there for the support including some of my colleagues from WAA! (a local anime/jpop group) with Ronald "RG" Guanzon who got there earlier for the press conference.
The band has vaguely familiar set-up, which I heard from way back in the form of Dreams Come True. Fukko the lead vocalist reminds me of the famous Yoshida Miwa. Followed by Hale and after there perfomance the people around thought it was over. Well until the four artists who performed came back, and sang All You Need Is Love by the Beatles. The event was organized by JAPAN FOUNDATION, MANILA and Shangri-La Plaza in celebration of Philippines-Japan Friendship's 50th Anniversary alsponsored by Tower Records. More photo coverage will be posted soon courtesy of Ronald "RG" Guanzon of WAA!

02.22.2006 - Our man from SanFran Ryan Ambrosio just came from another book signing last February 20th. This time at Cody's Books Stockton, San Francisco. Where he went to Laurent De Brunhoff, the son of Babar creator - Jean De Brunhoff.
The books Ryan got signed are for his two boys. This is one of those once in a lifetime book signing, as Laurent De Brunhoff is already 80 years old, with Babar turning 75 this year.
02.20.2006 - Zsa Zsa Zaturnnah rocks! The Huseng Batute theater was packed yesterday afternoon after another screening of Zsa Zsa Zaturnnah Zse Muzikal starring Ms. Eula Valdez as Zsa Zsa the alternate form of Ada performed by Tuxqs Rutaquio.
What's the best about this live muzikal version was scene stealing character of Ricci Chan who breath life to Didi the bestfriend of Ada who's mouth never stops to rant. Plus perfomances by singer/actress Ms. Agot Isidro as the devious Queen Femina, and model/actress Wilma Doesnt as Dina B. one of the queen's Amazonistas.
A sterling cast of theater actors including my best buddy Vince's cousin Marjorie rounds up the group. Even Japanese foreigners watched it as fans of Zsa Zsa Zaturnnah was not disappointed from beginning up to the end. I won't spoil the beans about it, but if you got time to drop by check out my exclusive review at CerboJAMultiply site. For the next schedule of perfomances it will be held on February 24 (8pm), 25 (3pm/8pm), 26 (3pm) and March 3 (8pm), 4 (3pm/8pm) and 5 (3pm).
02.19.2006 - My friend Ryan Ambrosio sent me a photo of stuff he got at the recent WonderCon held in San Francisco. Look at all the stuff he got from that comic book convention.
Signed comics plus little pins I used to have back six years ago, when my friend Toti Reyes went to a convention held at the Madison Square Garden. More updates on Ryan's adventure soon.
02.17.2006 - Well its been a while since I last heard about Neil Gaiman and his movie project Mirrormask. My friend Ryan Ambrosio, who I met during his Manila tour sent me a signed copy of Anansi Boys last December had plans to see the flick. I myself can't wait too, but I won't crack the eggs in hoping it will be showed here.
It turns out I was in Quiapo yesterday ony my way home when I stopped by The Paradise of illegally you-know-what and saw the DVD. At first I was thinking that they would have this not-so good copy until I ask the man selling to test the video. I haven't watched it religously, but just went and browsed the opening intro. All I can say is Dave Mckean rocks!
02.10.2006 - Early mornings where not suppose to be a fun day, but it had to be my rest day. I guess I can't pass up the opportunity to have a little bit of fun once in a while. Its six years since I had last visited Enchanted Kingdom and I was with a joyce of life at that time. A long bus travelled for almost two hours taking a jeepney and then a tricycle ride to San Sta. Rosa was not the ideal cup of tea.
I was with my team at work who planned this crazy idea for the past two weeks. I got this knack about not participating, but I guess I didn't regret to have travelled this long just to see it again.
I'm not quite literally thinking what to do next in an expression that made me become a kid again, and I was back at Enchanted Kingdom for the third time in nine years. The first time I went was way back in 1997 with my now former Radio1 colleagues, and I used to drive a 1976 Volkswagen Beetle. This time around I have the company of people I don't really get to hang out quite most of my free time.
The craziest trip I ever had was the first, and the second one was there up because it was very special, where the happiest thrill I took was the Space Shuttle thrice like lightning. Today at this age and less physical exercise I could only last for one ride. When I finally landed at this theme park the first ride was the revenge ride of my life against my supervisor, and boy did he get a pain for demolition derby.
The next one didn't felt like riding it to enjoy such as the Roller Skater, and then things gets quasi crazy with the Flying Fiesta. We should have stopped from there until they took the Rialto just to feel, that we where actually riding with Yogi Bear to rescue George Jetson's son Elroy from Dick Dastardly and Muttly. The next one was a high above and it was spinning, which also almost made me hurl with the Wheels of Fate, and even my buddy kept me from spinning too. Not to make me feel the adrenaline rush going to my brain, since it was actually a warm-up for the Space Shuttle. I would have killed myself after that, but the Jungle Log Jam just made me wake up.
I felt like a shaken up ragged doll riding the last two, that we decided to take a break. The next one was a bit of Rialto, and just watching a Playstation game simulate the situation with the 4D Theater. I felt the game as I paid extra PhP 40.00 bucks just to see this ride. You wear 3D glasses and has limited seating. For almost thirty minutes you get to feel like your being played around while trying to watch Escape from the Bane Manor or whatever the exact title of it.
The worst part came when its time I ride the Riogrande Rapids, where its a good thing that I had two extra shirts to wear. The bad part is I don't have a spare pants. I almost lost my voice from last nights trip, and when I got home after a hot shower I was like a brick.
After experiencing it all again for the third time being there it was like more than just an adventure. Bonding you say yes. There's lots of stuff I forgot to put it up in-between like playing the Dance Revolution machine again, and countless other stuff you should see HERE.

02.05.2006 - There are times that I don't believe the signs, but they do come in handy once its already too late. I guess there's a sign for everything to say that I met Roxy Barcelo for a short time to know her being one of my good friends.
A former colleague from Radio1, model, endorser, and darling diva. She'll be there for 57 days along with RX jock Rico Robles. A suprising turn of events to hear her being there at the house of Big Brother, since the last time I saw her during the victory party. Well good luck to the celebrities, although I won't be seeing the show for a while, since the office TV was busted at the end of the first season of Pinoy Big Brother. Such a shame.
02.04.2006 - seventy nine dead and countless injured as reports from the Ultra tragedy. We mourn those who lost there lives to this tragic day. I was outside and was very much occupied, when I just got home and found about it late today. By tomorrow the morning paper will post the official list of injured or dead. For now we pray for them...
