Book Fair Adventures.

08.31.2006 - The first long day at The 27th Manila International Book Fair 2006 was feet numbing experience all through the day. Sleeping for four hours has been the only rest I had starting this week, but its sure one heck of a side trip. The second day was quite slow, but it was worth it picking up some books that I wanted to get for so long.

Enter!

Great books and there are FREE magazines, but compare to last year this ones a bit laid back from a personal stand point. My buddy Azrael was there from the opening until he spent his last peso the magazines he can find. I on the other hand a bit frisky, but I'm sure the experience was a good trip. The following day was a bit a drag with a lot of interesting books that may confuse you, whcih one to pick and buy at the same time. See day one and two photos feast for an artistic side HERE and HERE.

Read A Lot Of Books.

08.29.2006 - Last year's Book Fair I took home a lot of readable stuff. Magazines and other goodies. I get to see Super Book's mascot, and other odd looking creatures related to... Books. I saw a lot but my budget wasn't enough, but I saw familiar faces from Artists' Den like Camy Francisco hanging out, and helping a friend who owns a comic shop.

08.14.2006 - The first issue of Maxim Philippines will definitely get an excuse for a newbie magazine. This month's latest makes me wonder what's common with last month's US edition.

Something familiar?

Jessica Simpson on the cover wasn't my favorite kind, but give Ornusa Cadness on this month's Philippine Edition give me a bother the difference. If you look closely the colors and background of the cover of both issues will make you think right?

Even the articles?

Well its up to you which both haveresemblance of some sort if you can browse over the pages. I say I see two similarity articles, but I'm not about to judge if they are born seperately...

08.13.2006 - Currently my latest last song syndrome or LSS is Kylie Minogue's Love at first sight, which is also on her Ultimate Kylie album. The song can be found in the latest incarnation of the Dace Dance Revolution game Dancing Stage: Supernova, whihc is my current favorite right now.

Love At First Sight.

I may see this is the song that has actually the dance step from the music video. I only saw it on MTV a couple of times, but I remember the beat. To tell you the truth I listen to Kylie Minogue, and probably will pick the above mentioned album. For now I like playing her song on the machine.

08.13.2006 –Whenever visiting the local record shops, it’s like going to the grocery store. You call it your personal escape from all the work you go through.

It’s not just an escape, it’s also a discovery of new things for your eyes to find fresh to check and probably acquire the CD for a good listen.

It’s been a long time since passing by the record shops with so many things happening personally, it’s a surprise to see something familiar, and yet, it’s new, or it’s a first time seeing it on the shelves or the rack.

Sometimes, I‘m lost for words to be surprised that you can be an inspiration to some to produce their own records, and don't come up with original titles until you see it.

Drool Over Playboy.

08.10.2006 - My computer's been down for the past week, and its because my hardrive wont work for me. Well the past few days aren't that worst just not good. I guess there's things to be said about reading too much or not read at all. So two days a go a balikbayan box came and guess what the box had in it? Not only that I have an HP flatbed scanner I got something for me to keep me company to keep my head from worrying about that sorry old computer.

Something about this magazines?

Remember last year when I got my very first Playboy? Where my friend Azrael went bunny rabbits over Bai Ling's Star Wars inspired cover? Well the magazine that came last year has reinforcements. Currently I haven't began to read just browse the pages of a few. My favorite so far is Miss Noember half Filipino-Itallian girl, and I'm not going to spill anymore details. I know a stack of these are sitting right now beside my bed. So drool over Playboy.

08.04.2006 -FHM Philippines has been spicing up their recent magazines for 2006, and from the list alone, it’s really turning some heads. But let’s be real, it is an international “Men’s Magazine” tailor-made for a specific country, where the popularity of the cover women must attract readers, not only targeting men, but also women. The contents are, of course, for the adult male readers, and it’s not like a juvenile would be able to read it since it has mature content.

Unless you are an adult with immature views, you would surely not comprehend that some of the stuff in this magazine would attract younger readers for its sense of humor, not intended for kids. The latest issue tries to capture the older demographic, featuring a woman in her 40s, like Pops Fernandez.

Pops Fernandez is known for her 14 studio albums, and promoting her fifteenth album titled Silver. Posing as the cover girl for August 2006 seems out of her element, where younger women are the highlight for a men’s magazine. It’s something about breaking that stereotype of a woman at age 39, pushing the boundaries of her personality at this point in her life. There will be critics, and sometimes those bring about the attention why this magazine has been flying off the shelves.
