09.25.2005 - Day two is the last day of the very first Toy Fest for Kidz Station, and the weather was quite fine with regards to attendance.
People came and took some pictures with the display. Most notably is the section where TFPH's Transformer toy where exihibited. Its the only group that had no toys being sold or available for local release. Almost all of the toys on display are from DCPH. There was a few action figures and the rest are cars.
The centerpiece of the exihibit is Maverick's 1964 Chevy Impala to some visitors thought that it was just a mock up car. Until Maverick popped the hood and showed the chrome painted engine. It was a classy car with a definite attitude.
The event was filled with children of all ages even kids at heart joining in on the trivia contest. One of the guys from TFPH joined the Gundam contest conducted by Mechapinoy. I mostly just hang around with Azrael taking some pictures, and having a good laugh talking about the event itself.
So far this is one of those weekends I rarely attend during my free time at work. I can't wait until next year. I just want to thank Mr. Vic Yap for offering his display to TFPH the guys enjoyed the event.

09.24.2005 - Kidz Sation Toy Fest has begun, and I'm having hard time bringing the displays from last night. I was hoping that I would have someone from TFPH assist me on setting up the display, but unfortunately everyone is completely occupied with there jobs and bar exams. Well save one person who suggested this participation. That's me of course.
Day one has begun and not much people coming in due to the downpour last night. The air condition at the Rockwell tent gave me a mild flu. I was thinking of going home, but I just hang out the whole day.
The activities where taken from the DC Comics Convention two years ago, which was held at the Shagri-La in Ortigas City.
So far the only thing that kept me from going home is the ambiance of Rockwell. Going to Fullybooked checking out the comics, and humor books that really kept me occupied.
There's no entrance fee, but joining in on the activities is you need to buy something from Kidz Station. The whole afternoon was conducted by DCPH (Die-Cast Cars of the Philippines) group with there annual swap-meet. Not much toys that interested me during the swap-meet, but the people really occupied almost one fourth of the floor area.
I went home hungry and very much tired, but honestly one of the TFPH members came to my rescue. Actually he spent most of the time looking at the sentai toys at Kidz Station selling section. Oh yeah he stood there staring at the Gundam displays as well.
09.17.2005 - Its been quite a long time since I saw these guys. The last time I had the time of my life with my Artists' Den colleagues was last August during the Beerkada boog signings at Gloria Jean's Coffee in Shopwise Cubao.
Though I was not only there support one of the well-known undergound artists like Arnold Arre, but the chance to hang out with the Den people. Unfortunately I didn't get to see Elbert & Camy, since they left earlier that night.
Thank you to Lyndon for the Shakey's pizza & spaghetti treat. Too bad Azrael wasn't here to hang out with the guys. So I came here as his "proxy". I heard he was tied up with the "ball & chain". In Patrick & Jon's twisted story Az gets his you chained not only that there's also a tesla coil attached to it. Just kidding Az. =)
09.03.2005 - Day Three of the International Book Fair seem more like Day One. As I got there in the early afternoon people are still coming. I didn't noticed about this event until I saw it on television. Sure I'm pretty much out of the loop for quite sometime, but I don't want to miss this chance to go.
Entrace is only TEN pesos and its like going to a BIG library of books, novels, magazines, and comics. I got to see all the mascots and other weird looking ones looking for reading materials. Its like a big ocean of... Books.
Getting in was easy but going around is difficult. Looking for something like a needle in a place like this is awesome. I wish comic book conventions where like this, but this is the International Book Fair and this is really a big event.
If you have the money four days is not enough to take home a library, and this event is yearly. I missed it a couple of times but not this year. I look around there's people with different ages looking from free to bargains to rare and hard to find books.
There's magazines and mostly I got to Summit Media publishing where back issues of FHMs are sold for only Fifty Pesos. The current issue can get you a free back issue. Actually that's a bargain right?
I was at Powerbooks but nothing's there to see because its the same thing with there other branches. Its just that they have sale items going around especially that Queer Eeye For The Straight Guy book.
The book fair as bad and good timing for me. Its bad `cause I my funds are minimal and good they got a lot of good stuff to go around. I went to the Time magazine section, and I got back issues for the months of June not to mention the Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo cover.
If that's not enough to freebies to go around I also went to the Newsweek section where I got one free copy of there's last month's issue.
I saw comic books too. Remember Central Comics Headquarters or CCHQ? Well they're selling all there stuff 50% percent off. Unfortunately my budget permits me to grab a book compilations of the last five or six issues of the Marvel released Transformers comics.
I also saw familiar faces among the crowd like Elbert and & Camy who where there at CCHQ. Elbert was leaving soon due ti that he has a meeting while Camy hang out with the owner of CCHQ.
I was there but I have to leave soon since I'm with my relatives and it was getting dark. But I might decided to come back tomorrow. So if you have nothing to do at home this place is for you to see.
